I'm starting a blog!

My friend, Amanda, invited me to participate with her in Paul Taubman's Ultimate Blog Challenge. I've thought about starting a blog for years, so joining this challenge felt like the perfect reason to get started. I've been holding onto this seed long enough. It's time to plant it and see what develops.
I'm feeling a little unsure what I'll write about for 30 days straight. It's not the writing part that is hard...I do that all the time. It's writing something that I will publish that will be seen by others that feels like the challenge to me.
Yesterday was the first day of the challenge, and I wrote a blog post but did not publish it because it felt too personal, too vulnerable for my very first post. Maybe I will publish it later this month. Then again, maybe I won't. Not all writing is meant to be shared. Some words are just mean to be written for the sake of expressing them and to bring healing to things deep inside me.
Like many things in life, I believe this blog will take on a life of its own as I nurture it and give it time and attention. For now, I plan to stay open and curious about letting this blog evolve into what it wants to be. I will share little bits of things that are on my mind, wonderings I have, adventures I take. Sharing my writing in this way feels like opening a door of unknown possibilities, and for that, I am grateful and excited.
